Seminole ISD Monitoring Coronavirus Situation

Dear SISD Families-

While we do not want to cause panic, we do strive to be proactive in our practices to ensure the safety of our children. With that, we want to remind and encourage all of our families of these simple strategies to maintain good health and wellness.

As you are aware, the global novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) and the seasonal influenza illnesses are evolving and there has been a recent increase in media coverage. We want to assure you that we are monitoring the situation, and our focus remains on the health and welfare of our students, employees, and their families. We are reviewing and implementing guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as well as other health organizations to help us respond accordingly. In addition, the SISD maintenance and operations team has increased the disinfecting of classrooms and surfaces.

The Texas Department of State Health Services suggests the following tips:
  • Wash hands often with soap and water
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
  • Stay home if sick
  • Cover coughs and sneezes
  • Disinfect “high-touch” objects and surfaces often

We ask for your continued support in implementing these safe practices in your homes and daily routines. As always, we encourage and value your input. Please reach out to your campus administration, or myself, if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,

Kyle Lynch
Superintendent of Schools
