Dear Seminole ISD Parents and Guardians,
Seminole ISD administrators have been in continuous communication with state, county and local health officials regarding COVID-19. We do not wish to alarm anyone, as we remain committed to making informed decisions based on exposure in our area. Until further notice, we will continue to participate in extracurricular activities as allowed. Seminole ISD is committed to the health and safety of our students and staff. The COVID-19 coronavirus is spreading quickly in many parts of the world and has a growing potential to disrupt international travel. With spring break just around the corner, we want to provide information to you from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) related to travel to countries where there is widespread community transmission of COVID-19.
Seminole ISD encourages families to stay updated as they consider travel plans, and heed the CDC’s travel advisories. The CDC provides recommendations on postponing or canceling travel. These are called travel notices and are based on the assessment of the potential health risks involved with traveling to a certain area. A list of destinations with travel notices is available at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/travelers/index.html.
Seminole ISD continues to be proactive in providing a safe and clean school environment. Campuses are receiving a thorough cleaning and sanitizing, including:
- Wiping/sanitizing of all flat surfaces, desks, door handles and high-touch areas
- Use of electrostatic sanitizing sprayers in public areas such as hallways, foyers, and cafeterias
- Increasing the number and availability of hand sanitizers throughout our campuses and buildings
- Sanitizing and wiping down high-touch areas in school buses
We will continue to monitor this situation and provide updates as often as necessary. Thank you, in advance, for working with us to keep all of our students healthy and safe.
Sincerely,
Kyle Lynch
Superintendent of Schools
