Recent progress on the CTE building has gotten both Seminole ISD employees and local residents excited about the finished project. The formerly vacant plot of land on the southwest side of Seminole High School has been transformed into a busy construction site. From sunup to sundown dozens of workers can be seen doing the tasks needed to complete the future home of the Seminole ISD Career and Technical Education building.
Upon completion, the facility will add the following to the current high school: four large workshops, two newly added classrooms, and 20 completely renovated classrooms. The construction will solve some of the current classroom shortage problems as well as allow for new CTE programs for students.
“I am the most excited about the needed space we will have for our kids to work comfortably on individual and group projects that will benefit them in adulthood.” Seminole High School counselor Stacey Spradlin says. “When you have added space that is updated with cutting edge technology, you attract interest and excitement among the students and they want to be a part of it. I believe more students will be willing to try new things. It also ignites teachers' enthusiasm. I am so thankful that our community chose to support our high school, its staff and over 800 high school students. Whether students choose to go to college, the military, a technical school or straight to work, our high school will be better equipped to prepare all students for their future pursuits.”
