Accomplishments

This will be Susan Williamson's 16th year to advise publications at Seminole High School and was awarded the Edith Fox King Award by the UIL's Interscholastic League Press Conference in 2012.
 
Williamson advises four publications as well as the UIL Journalism team which has taken six district championships and one regional championship, had 47 regional qualifiers and six state qualifiers over the past 15 years.
 
Since the beginning of the all-state journalism staff by UIL in 2008, Seminole High School has had 25 students achieve the honor.
 
Williamson also advises the International Quill and Scroll Honor Society which recycles paper at the high school each year as our community service project. They are beginning their 70th year as a Quill and Scroll chapter.
 
Tepee Yearbook (over 15 years)
In state-wide competition sponsored by UIL, the book has earned 14 Awards of Distinguished Merit (first place at state), with the 15th book's rating pending.
The book has been nominated for as a STAR finalist seven times, winning one Bronze Star which put it in the top 33 books in its classification statewide.
The book has taken 184 statewide Individual Achievement Awards over 15 years.
The book has been awarded two Tops in Texas (middle school through 6A) awards in 15 years.
 
War Whoop Newspaper (over 12 years)
In state-wide competition sponsored by UIL, the book has earned 10 Awards of Distinguished Merit (first place at state).
The book has been nominated for as a STAR finalist three times, winning three Bronze Stars which put it in the top newspapers in its classification statewide.
The book has taken 139 statewide Individual Achievement Awards over 12 years.
The book has been awarded two Tops in Texas (middle school through 6A) awards in 12 years.

The website has taken 139 statewide Individual Achievement Awards over 9 years.
